Im still using Kuros, Jazz and Aramis. I recall going to Canada on Ward Air in 1989, where I bought my fist bottle. It still reminds me of that balmy summer cycling through Banff and the Okanagan Valley. My perfume journey needs updating. The association of smells is very powrful. Thanks for the review.

Wow, I'm a little surprised you chose this, to be honest. Try as I might, I couldn't get along with it, but I happened to also try on a Tank (having no desire for one) in the large size (not the XL) and it completely changed my mind. The tank wore so well on my wrist. I have not tried the Dumont, but I would be very interested in trying that one for sure.

I do enjoy your shaving videos. Right now I am finishing up a tub of J. Peterman's 1903 shaving soap, an American product. Nice scent. They also make an nice aftershave. And I agree that shaving more lightly, letting the razor do its job, is way to keep the skin in shave and also reduce knicks and cuts. Ash, keep up the good work!

Best feature for me has to be the trunk style opening and no zippers. I travel 75% of the year for work and when I reach my destinations I just want to flip open my suit case without worry. Anyone that travels a lot has had headaches with zippered luggage. Something so simple makes the travel days a bit easier honestly

My father was a police officer, and he had me iron his white police shirts each week for pocket money from a young age. He would inspect every shirt I ironed, and any not meeting his high standards had to be redone. Thousands of shirts ironed over many years taught me an essential life skill. I didnt enjoy it at the time but now I thank him for that, as well as for teaching me about responsibility, quality standards and pride in a job well done.

Never be afraid to go into these stores, just remember the assistant only works there usually for minimum wage they couldn’t afford to shop there so dont be put off by an assistant with a plumb in her or his mouth being snobby, Im self made and always go in and have a look, I can afford it they cant

I have a santos, Explorer and a Speedmaster. If I want something for the water I’ll just use the explorer or put on one of my Seiko divers. I personally wouldn’t replace the explorer with a DJ. Not needed with Santos Already IMO.

Ironically I bought my ex a Rolex in Vegas in 2010 and then my next ex in 2016 in Los Angeles and never for myself-however they both cherish them forever!

I have two Homburgs, one a soft built, the other hard. The occasion to wear them is rare, but - I don't regret them.. I haven't got a bowler (yet), or a Panama; you have short hair - well clear of your collar - and I think the bowler suits you very well. Would it suit me, with my longer hair - I don't know; but I know I'm bound to weaken sooner or later and buy one... With you entirely on polyester ties; I do have a couple of some quality - believe it or not - but most of them aren't, of course. The one thing you're absolutely right about (far from the only thing!) is polyester pocket squares: stick to cotton or silk, because a polyester square won't fold, or even bend, it just sits there ramrod stiff and its colour is likely to be crude - so you'll be advertising yourself as someone who just doesn't know what he's doing. I have a couple - they're never worn, and I ought to give them away to some unsuspecting soul. On the whole, I don't regret clothes I've bought, unless they patently didn't fit; but I did buy a quartz pocket watch: it looks ... OK: I could have done without the jewels on the case; but wearing it afforded me no pleasure at all; rather more accurate than my old mechanical watches (although they're pretty good, even the one I've had for some 55 years) until the battery ran out, but it doesn't, obviously, wind: it doesn't really need any attention, beyond battery changing; I've just never learned to love it, as I certainly do my half-dozen mechanical models. Finally, I regret buying "half-hose" socks: they reach mid-calf, and no higher; they're good quality but just feel irritating and chafing. I like knee high socks, and that's what I should have bought. Short socks are an abomination - little is more offputting than seeing those few inches of dead white calf between the top of the sock and the hem of the trousers; and anyway, I can't be doing with things on my wrist or ankles: so that's no to ankle socks, wrist watches, and, of course handcuffs - but that's a longer story.

100% agree. Datejust (in 36mm) is the king. I have the same size wrist. The Datejust will be my next watch and I plan to wear it daily for the rest of my life. I thought I wanted an understated black dial, but I recently tried on the silver dial two weeks ago and it really resonated with me. Now I just can't decide between silver and black. I've also tried the blue and I quite like it as well. I'm not quite ready for purchase, so I can think it through. I really enjoy your videos, btw.

Very tough decision!! Honestly I'd probably just hold firm with where I'm at if those were my three watches! But it's a very tough choice. I'd probably drop the Cartier personally since a DJ would provide some overlap there, but the Cartier is a beautiful watch.

Only speaking for myself here but I am super traditional with DJ's. On occasions, I can be found in my DJ and also at less so, at times in my white tie and tailcoat. There is something quite magic in the hight of formal evening wear.

Hi Ash! Thinking of your brush with former PM and (now) Lord Cameron and his choice of loafers despite his otherwise full suit of a political armour, what is your take on sprezzatura? I had an ex who, commenting once on my outfit (bit of a John Wick look decades earlier), said I looked like I was trying to hard. One can't really conclude much from a single opinion but she was my gf at the time so I didn't just dismiss it outright. Now I try to work in an eccentricity or two just to avoid looking too much like a dandy. Which makes me think of a second question, where do you draw the line between being a chap vs dandy? Or is that a question that if you have to ask you ARE a dandy?

Watch this video in 2024. Although I dont have tudor gmt for myself, I have tudor chrono which thickness almost the same. I wear my tudor almost everyday because somehow I feel its not save to wearing my rolex submariner 124060 as daily watch. Tudor still feel thick in my 7 inch wrist but I fell quite confident because its quality.

A couple of observations, if I may. Those shoes look to be leather/suede panels, I don't think that they are patch pockets, and your pocket square may have looked ok with that suit. The second fella nailed it.

The datejust is probably the greatest ONE watch collection watch of all times.... (in my opinion)... 100m waterproof, anti magnetic to some degree, I have the beautiful two tone yellow gold with black anniversary jubilee dial with roman numerals in gold and the super-beautiful jubilee bracelet with the hidden clasp.. in 36mm. I have a few other watches but this simple datejust is so iconic, classy and sporty at the same time. Everyone recognizes a classic date just with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet and everyone loves them or comments on it. I am not a patek or ap guy, patek and ap lack something that the rolex has....I cant understand why I keep gravitating toward rolex watches....
